Dr. Garza was born in Tomball, TX and is a native to the Cy-Fair area. She attended The University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate studies followed by The University of Houston College of Optometry where she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Garza also went on to complete a residency in Primary Care optometry with a subspecialty in ocular disease. Throughout the course of her training, Dr. Garza worked with numerous specialists and expanded her knowledge base to best treat her patients. In addition to routine eye care, she is experienced in the areas of dry eye treatment, refractive and cataract surgery co-management, and specialty contact lens fittings. She believes in treating patients as a whole, not just their eyes. Her special interests include public health and disease prevention.
Dr. Garza is also faculty at The University of Houston College of Optometry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is certified in Texas as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.
She remains an active member of several organizations including Harris County Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, Prevent Blindness Texas, American Public Health Association, and American Academy of Optometry.
In her spare time she enjoys trying different restaurants, watching movies, and spending quality time with her friends and family. Dr. Garza is also fluent in Spanish.
