A native Houstonian and graduate from Cy-Creek High School, Leslie is our Lead Para-Optometric Assistant (POA) and Associate Optician. She attained her certification as Medical Assistant with additional training in phlebotomy from Lone Star College in 2017. Whether perfoming their pre-test or frame-styling patients in the optical, she always strives to provide compassionate eyecare to each patient during their visit. As an experienced Para-Optometric Assistant, she possesses various skills such as taking patient histories, visual acuities, intra-ocular and blood pressure readings as well as performing complex measurements of the eye including Optos retinal imaging, Humphrey visual fields, Oculus Dry Eye testing, and Heidelberg OCT scans to see some of the deepest layers of the eye. Leslie continues to expand her knowledge in opticianry and enjoys seeing patient's excitement about their new eyewear.
When not working at PV, she enjoys cooking or baking for family. She and her husband are over the moon as new parents to a beautiful baby girl.
Q&A with Leslie: What is your favorite thing about healthcare? “I enjoy working with anything that has to do with health care. The best thing about working at PV is getting the hands on experience with the patients and learning how to use all the instruments."
What's on your bucket list? "Something I would like to cross off my bucket list is to go sky diving and travel to Santorini Greece and Thailand."
What is something funny about your pet? "Something funny about my pug Miley is that she will only play fetch with me and not my husband."
