Dr. Cristina De La Peña
Languages: English, Spanish

Dr. De La Peña, founder of Premier Vision, was born in California and raised in Texas at an early age. Awarded the Academic Excellence Award Scholarship, she completed eight rigorous years at the University of Houston, earning her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2002. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. De La Peña is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and a Texas-licensed therapeutic optometrist and glaucoma specialist, qualified to diagnose and treat a broad range of eye diseases. She also collaborates with leading LASIK surgeons in managing refractive eye surgeries

With expertise in fitting a wide variety of contact lenses—ranging from standard spherical and toric lenses to specialized options like rigid gas permeable (RGP), scleral, and hybrid lenses—Dr. De La Peña provides tailored solutions for patients, including those with complex eye conditions like keratoconus and irregular corneas.

Her early career as an optician gave her a unique understanding of eyewear design, fabrication, and fitting, and she emphasizes the importance of both precision and comfort when prescribing glasses. This hands-on experience allows her to deliver exceptional, personalized care to her patients.

As a mother of three sons, Dr. De La Peña values family and designed her practice to be welcoming for patients of all ages. Her child-friendly office reflects her commitment to creating a comfortable environment for families. She is also a proud participant in the InfantSEE® program, offering no-cost eye exams for infants to support early detection of vision conditions.

Dr. De La Peña is an active member of professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the Harris County Optometric Society. She is also involved in her local community through the Northwest Chamber of Commerce and Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Outside the office, Dr. De La Peña loves playing the violin and spending time with her husband and three energetic sons, whether on the soccer field or exploring new destinations together.
