She has given lectures and presentations on binocular vision dysfunction, management of amblyopia and strabismus, anterior segment inflammation, and ocular sequelae in cases of suspected child abuse. Her special interests include pediatric eye care, amblyopia/strabismus management, and working with people with special needs. Her goals are to provide quality eye care in a safe, compassionate space for all her patients.

Dr. Mendiola is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist, as well as an active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and Fellowship Candidate for the American Academy of Optometry.
